Lifeguards of UE "Pleso" took part in the Oceanman competition in Odessa. The OCEANMAN swimming competition took place in Odessa at the beginning of September 2019. This is the World Open Water Swimming Championships which offers professional swimmers and amateurs the chance to reach personal goals in unique locations such as Lake Orta, Caribbean Sea, Pacific Ocean, Mediterranean Sea and Black Sea. The OCEANMAN swimming competition has a variety of distance options: - 200 to 1,500m (children's swims); - 1km to 2km; - 3.5km to 5km; - 6km to 14km; - 21km to 30km. The lifeguard coach Mykhailo Perepelytsia took first place in the 10 km distance (overall) and advanced to the finals of the World Championships to be held in Mexico in 2020. Ivan Perepelytsia took first place in the 5 km distance (in his age category) and also made it to the finals. Andrii Baranov, the supervisor of the Kyiv lifeguards, has also won the 2 km distance. In three relay races of 500 m each the third place was taken by the first team of lifeguards, which included Slipchuk Danylo, Bebeshko Tetiana and Mariia Palamarchuk. They showed one of the best results among more than 800 swimmers. The second team took VI place: Kostiantyn Chechenia, Maryna Ishchenko and Denys Bohutskyi. Since the level of fitness of the lifeguards directly affects the quality of their work, the lifeguards plan to further improve their results.
